Premarital counseling helps couples build a strong foundation before marriage by improving communication, aligning expectations, and addressing potential areas of conflict early—before they become entrenched patterns. We focus on learning how they each handle disagreement, stress, and emotional triggers, and they practice healthier ways to navigate conflict. We also explore how we align on core life topics—finances, family planning, career goals, religion, roles in the relationship and boundaries with extended family.
My goal in premarital counseling is to have each partner deepen their understanding of each other's attachment needs, emotional histories, and ways of feeling loved or supported. This can increase empathy and reduce misunderstandings once married.
